KENNEDY NEFF is a scrappy, Beatles-loving outcast who is desperate to find her father—a man her mother barely knew. Kennedy believes she inherited her otherworldly abilities from him, abilities which have landed her a coveted position at an elite institute on the other side of the known universe. After arriving on this distant paradise planet, Kennedy makes fast friends with her hilarious alien roommates and enlists their help in the search for her father.

Kennedy struggles with her advanced training and develops a painful crush on Reddick, a dreamy upperclassman whom she feels is light-years out of her league. Still, nothing can distract Kennedy from finding her father—not new alien friends, nor her first love, not even a tyrannical king targeting the institute. Kennedy is determined to uncover her father's secret identity, unaware that the truth will not only change her world but the entire universe.
